With the Washington D.C. skyline as the backdrop, Laura and Jack tied the knot in a sunset ceremony on the Spirit of Washington. The one thing that stands out about Laura and Jack is how incredibly sweet they are and how much they love each other. They met at a Christian retreat and proudly proclaim Christ as the head of their lives.
Laura wore a simple, elegant dress from David's Bridal. One of the funniest moments was watching the guys look up youtube videos to learn how to tie a bow tie. It actually made me want to learn too and while I haven't mastered the bow tie, I now know the basics of tying a standard tie. Admittedly, I am a little out of practice, but I will refresh before wedding season begins again. But I digress.
Before the ceremony they opted for a "no look, first look" where they were able to hold hands and together with friends, say a prayer together.
The reception was a nautical themed affair - with decorative anchors and pretty florals as the main design elements. Toasts, dinner cupcakes and dancing on the Potomac kept this wedding lively and fun.
