Every year, I make a little promise to myself: take time to slow down, breathe deep, and chase beauty wherever it blooms. And when lavender season rolls in—from late May through mid-July—there’s only one place that comes to mind: Seven Oaks Lavender Farm.
Tucked away in the Virginia countryside, this charming family-run farm bursts into a sea of soft purple blossoms, buzzing bees, and the unmistakable sweet scent of fresh lavender. It’s a place where time stretches, your shoulders drop, and nature invites you to just be.
One of the most magical things about visiting Seven Oaks is that the moment you step onto the fields, you're greeted by the calming, herbaceous fragrance of lavender in full bloom. For me, that scent instantly transports me into a state of calm. It’s no wonder lavender is widely used in essential oils, teas, candles, and even culinary recipes.
Lavender’s natural properties help relieve stress, promote sleep, and uplift your mood. Whether you’re bundling a bouquet to bring home, sipping lavender lemonade, or just breathing in deeply, the benefits linger far beyond your visit.
Every visit is also an opportunity to immerse myself in floral beauty through my lens. The soft purple blooms, cheerful yellow wildflowers nearby, and fluttering butterflies create scenes that feel straight out of a dream.
One of the most unexpectedly delightful parts of the trip? The bunnies! Seven Oaks has the most adorable little bunny hutches where you can peek in and visit with fluffy farm residents. Kids (and let’s be honest—grown-ups too) light up at the sight of them. It adds such a playful, heartwarming touch to an already charming experience.
This little reset is a reminder that beauty is often found in the simplest moments—like the gentle hum of a bee, or the scent of lavender dancing on the wind.
If you're looking for a peaceful summer escape, Seven Oaks Lavender Farm offers just that. And whether you're coming for the flowers, the photo ops, or a moment of stillness—you'll leave refreshed, grounded, and maybe even carrying a little bouquet of calm home with you.
